Musical reading about Freddy Mercury

Musikland MV
Enjoy an evening of exciting stories and incomparable music.

After sold-out reading shows from Leibnitz to Wiener Neustadt, even in the renowned Viennese "Casanova" and a first very successful tour in April, star filmmaker Rudi Dolezal announces a continuation of his tour for 2026 due to the great success and high demand!

"I call it a reading SHOW, because MY FRIEND FREDDIE LIVE is much more than a 'reading'," says the cult director, who has not only worked with Queen, but also with world stars such as Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson and David Bowie, and still works with greats such as Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones and Billy Joel in the USA today.

"I only read one chapter at a time and then - like in a show - I show videos that I shot with Queen, some of which are directly related to what I've just read - and in the second part there's an American-style "Q & A" (Questions & Answers) where the audience can ask me EVERYTHING they've always wanted to know about Freddie Mercury!"

"I am overjoyed at the great response from the audience," says Rudi. The author has high praise from a competent source - the Graz literary scholar Prof. Dr. Dr. Dietmar Goltschnigg:

"As a literary scholar, I read Rudi Dolezal's book with great pleasure. It is fluently written, entertaining with a lot of humor and you feel like you are in the middle of the action. Dolezal writes very sensitively about his friend Mercury - it was very moving for me! This is moving, empathetic literature. Dolezal also proves himself to be a competent expert. I can only recommend the book to everyone - including all my colleagues and (former) students."

Dolezal modestly:

"The book, as well as the reading shows, were created with pure heart and soul. In the book, I tell my story of how I, as a long-haired hippie from Vienna's ninth district, became Freddie Mercury's personal filmmaker - and ultimately his friend.

The reading shows are also very emotional. The audience smiles, laughs, is thrilled and sometimes very affected. An emotional rollercoaster ride - just like Freddie's life."
